Mission Statement
The Kolkata Museum of Modern Art’s mission is to provide a state-of-the-art museum and associated infrastructure to arrange and display works of art from all over the world, and to acquire artworks for its own permanent collection and exhibition. It is further committed to interdisciplinary research and the dissemination of knowledge about Indian art and culture through scholarly publications, art education courses, art appreciation programmes and public outreach programmes. KMOMA shall strive to become a major center of expertise on art.

It is further committed to interdisciplinary research and the dissemination of knowledge about Indian art and culture through scholarly publications, art education courses, art appreciation programmes and public outreach programs. KMOMA shall strive to become a major center of expertise on art.
Further, the museum and its allied infrastructure shall provide for, inter alia, an art library, art restoration, facilities for open air exhibitions and to create a forum for the promotion of art and culture, dissemination of knowledge relating to art and culture, and to carry out philanthropic activities including holding and assisting charitable exhibitions.
About KMOMA
The Kolkata Museum of Modern Art (KMOMA) is a not-for-profit public charitable trust created by the Government of West Bengal. The principal objective of the Trust as laid down in the Trust Deed is to “set up a state-of-the-art Museum of international standard comparable and capable of being compared to the best museums of the world”.
Further, the museum and its allied infrastructure shall provide for, inter alia, an art library, art restoration, facilities for open air exhibitions and to create a forum for the promotion of art and culture, dissemination of knowledge relating to art and culture, and to carry out philanthropic activities including holding and assisting charitable exhibitions.
