The Art Centre is a nine-storey arrangement of ‘boxes’ stacked around a central atrium and is located to the west of the Central Plaza. The Art Centre houses the main museum and gallery areas along with auditorium and museum related support functions including: Art Storage, Art Academy, Curatorial Facilities, Administration and Members and Patrons facilities. Galleries are located on Levels 1, 3 and 5 with the related art programme and support spaces on the ‘in between’ levels. Each gallery floor will have an arrangement of display spaces providing a great diversity of display potential. The Atrium is the central orientation and circulation space of the Auditorium is located in the southeast corner of the Art Centre. As a flexible space it can be used for theatrical productions as well as museum events, banquets, conferences etc.
